VITAS Home Health Aides provide personal care and services to hospice patients, augmenting care given by family members or caregivers. They perform tasks like hygiene, meal preparation, ambulation assistance, and monitoring vital signs, adhering to a written assignment and with supervision from a nurse. The role requires a commitment to patient care and a dedication to teamwork.
Requirements
- High School graduate or equivalent preferred
- Experience of 75 hours of training as specified in 42 C.F.R. Sections 484.36.
- Documentation of 75 hours of training as specified in 42 C.F.R. Sections 484.36.
- Completion of a Competency Evaluation program as specified in 42 C.F.R. Section 484.36.
- State Allowable Training/Certification (AL, CO, DC, DE, FL, GA, IN, MI, PA, TX, VA, WI, CA, CHHA, CT, Homemaker-Home Health Aide, IL, HHA, NA, KS)
