VITAS Home Health Aides (HHA) provide personal care and support to hospice patients, augmenting care provided by family members or caregivers. The role involves performing specific personal care tasks, preparing meals, ambulating patients, assisting with treatments, and adhering to safety protocols. Training and ongoing support are provided throughout the year.
Requirements
- High School graduate or equivalent preferred
- 75 hours of training as specified in 42 CFR Section 484.36 (a)(1)
- State Allowable Training/Certification
- Physical ability to lift and transfer patients.
- Attention to detail and follow directions.
- Ability to travel per job requirements.
- Basic infection control knowledge.
