Job Description
The VITAS Home Health Aide (HHA) provides personal care and services to hospice patients, augmenting care provided by family members or caregivers. Responsibilities include assisting with hygiene, meal preparation, ambulation, treatment adherence, emotional support, and documentation. Training is required. The position involves lifting patients and performing tasks as assigned by the nurse. VITAS offers a people-focused, committed team.
Requirements
- High School graduate or equivalent preferred
- 75 hours of training as specified in 42 C.F.R. Sections 484.36 and 484.36(a)(1)
- Competency Evaluation program completion
- State Allowable Training/Certification (AL, CO, DC, DE, FL, GA, IN, MI, PA, TX, VA, WI, CA, CHHA, CT, Homemaker-Home Health Aide, IL, HHA, NA, KS)
