Provides leadership at the district and school level in the implementation of school curriculum, instructional programs, and researched-based best instructional practices. Directly supports and coordinates the efforts of school leaders and central office administrators to improve instruction and enhance student learning within an assigned region aligned with Area Superintendents.
Requirements
- Comprehensive knowledge of federal and state public school laws and the policies and regulations of the Wake County Board of Education as they relate to Wake County Public School System’s (WCPSS) instructional programming and budget;
- Comprehensive knowledge of the development of educational plans and programs at the school level;
- Comprehensive knowledge of educational administration and supervision at the education level;
- Comprehensive knowledge of current educational trends in instructional administration techniques and programs throughout the state and nation;
- Considerable knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically Word and Excel; Google Apps;
- Ability to engage in data-based problem solving at the district and school level for decision making regarding instruction, curriculum, and environment;
- Ability to generate, analyze, interpret, and communicate student achievement and perception data;
- Ability to design and deliver professional learning to meet the needs of various stakeholders;
- Ability to communicate with individuals of varied cultural and educational backgrounds;
- Ability to make independent judgments and to implement creative solutions to problems;
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with school officials, school administrators, teachers, support staff, outside advocacy groups and other community members with an expertise in consensus building.
