Job Description
This PRN Monitor Technician role provides 24/7 patient monitoring in a Cardiac-Observation Unit. The Monitor Technician utilizes EKG, ACLS, and residency classes, analyzes rhythms and vital signs in a centralized station, and reports any abnormalities to the RN. The role involves individualized orientation and participation in intershift handoff reporting.

- Interprets EKG waveforms and rhythms.
- Adjusts rhythm alarms collaboratively.
- Communicate arrhythmias and alarms to RN.
- Implements medication adjustments.
- Documents rhythm competency.
- Ensures alarms are properly set.
- Verifies accurate patient information.
- Maintains equipment.
- Completes assignments before end of shift.
- Provides verbal reports.
