Job Description
The Intellectual Property (IP) Counsel provides high quality IP service to Werfen's organization. This role is responsible for establishing patent portfolios, conducting freedom-to-operate studies, supporting internal and external clients, and collaborating with business and legal teams. The Counsel will actively monitor IP laws and strategies to protect the company's intellectual property.
Requirements
- Bachelors degree in science or engineering
- JD from an accredited U.A. law school
- Admission to practice before the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office (USPTO)
- 5+ years of relevant experience in a law firm
- Solidly trained in patent drafting and prosecution
- Well-versed in patent law in major jurisdictions
- Substantial freedom-to-operate (FTO) experiences
- Experience with trade secret surveys and strategies
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to professionalism and ethics
