Utilization Review Specialist

Westborough Behavioral Healthcare Hospital is seeking a Utilization Review Specialist to monitor adherence to the hospital's utilization review plan and ensure effective and efficient use of hospital services.

Requirements

• Associates or Bachelors degree in a Clinical (medical) or health related field
• 2-3 years experience working as a UR Specialist, Medical Billing or health care quality assurance
• 3 years of experience in psychiatric setting preferred
• Knowledge of health care service delivery systems, and third party reimbursement; knowledge of managed care environment
• Ability to apply and interpret admission and continued stay criteria; understanding of admission and discharge function; familiarity with medical terminology, diagnostic terms and treatment modalities; knowledge of medical record keeping
