Early Learning Specialist

The Early Learning Specialist provides home visits to families with young children in the YWCA's Family Housing programs, modeling behaviors that enhance children's development and promote school readiness. The position requires independent travel throughout King County and has a social justice component that requires critical thinking through the lens of racism and intersections with poverty.

Requirements

• Experience working with young children
• Knowledge of child development
• Must have experience doing community outreach
• Experience managing and maintaining data
• Ability to make home visits as needed and to maintain confidentiality
• Ability to work flexible hours including weekends when necessary
• Must have valid Washington State Driver License, personal vehicle, insurance, and an acceptable driving record
• Demonstrated knowledge and skills of basic computer competencies such as emailing and calendaring
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office products
• Ability and willingness to work independently and as part of a team and to make sound judgments without on-site supervision
• Experience working effectively & respectfully in a multicultural setting
• Demonstrated commitment to anti-racist principles
• Demonstrated understanding of the intersection of racism and poverty
• Bilingual speakers preferred
