Operational Risk & Control Manager

Zopa is looking for an Operational Risk & Control Manager to join their 1st Line of Defence (1LOD) Risk Function. The role will involve managing risks across the organisation, partnering with teams across the business, and embedding the bank's risk framework into everything they do. The successful candidate will have experience managing operational risk and be comfortable working with data and technology.

Requirements

• Experience managing operational risk (ideally in the first line) within a consultancy, fintech, financial services, or a comparable regulated environment.
• Understanding of the regulatory framework Zopa operates in and a keenness to keep learning as open banking evolves.
• Ability to lead stakeholders to identify and manage risks, support delivery of change, and continually improve existing risk practices.
• Comfortable working with data and technology, focus on outcomes, and ability to apply the risk framework to deliver the right results for customers and the bank.
• Good communication and collaboration skills, and ability to influence others to make sound risk decisions.
