Job Description
Aiven is a global team working to become the trusted Data & AI Platform for companies. They are seeking an Engineering Manager to lead their Data Streaming domain, focusing on Apache Kafka and Inkless. This role involves improving Kafka, innovating with KIP-1150, operating the fleet, and building ecosystem tools, with a focus on attracting talented engineers and supporting their career development. Aiven emphasizes an agile and collaborative environment, prioritizing results and customer value.
Requirements
- 2+ years experience in a leadership position
- 5+ years of experience as a software developer
- Deep understanding of data streaming (Kafka and/or Flink)
- Understanding of building high performing teams and retaining talent
- Proven background in successfully-delivered software solutions, best testing practices and deployment techniques
- Genuine interest in open source technologies and technical challenges
- Experience working in agile and fast-growing tech start-up / scale-up
- Ability to coach and to support the career development of your team members
