The Peer Support Specialist monitors clients, provides peer support services individually and in a group setting, and helps to provide a safe, caring environment in which the clients can recover.
Requirements
- Facilitate curriculum-based peer support groups
- Certify applicable staff and clients as peer support specialist
- Maintain compliance with peer support specialist training certification and credentialing
- Monitor/supervise clients at all times
- Follows the direction and guidance of the supervisor on duty
- Ensure that clients adhere to program/facility rules
- Support & Intervention - verbally support clients as needed
- Transport clients and/or staff to and from a variety of destinations
- Works as part of a highly communicative treatment team
- Complete documentation in the electronic medical record
