Black Box Network Services is looking for a Network Infrastructure Technician with a proven track record in installing, testing, and certifying structured and patch panel cabling in a data center environment.
Requirements
- Racking and stacking of network devices
- Cable patching
- Physical layer troubleshooting
- Equipment disposal activities
- Installing and troubleshooting Cisco and Avaya IP phones
- Installing single and multi-mode optical cabling
- Inspecting and cleaning installed optical cabling
- Installing copper cable to IEEE and BICSI cabling standards
- Testing installed cables using a Fluke Versiv Mainframe
- Decommissioning obsolete networking cabling infrastructure
- Working with elevated and underfloor cabling trays
- Assisting in troubleshooting network equipment and cabling
- Patching cabling between network equipment and customer's network
- Installation of power cables from equipment to power supply in rack/cabinet/closet
- Installation, troubleshooting, and de-installing network equipment
- Install/swap out cables, switches routers, and etc.
- Complete all hard and complex Move, Add Change (MAC) requests within the defined service levels
- Provide infrastructure cabling break-fix services for network infrastructure
- Perform layer 1 troubleshooting
- Support carrier testing of circuits
- Assist with facilities efforts
- Power and uninterruptable power supply (UPS) restoral
- Water problems
- Emergency cooling restoration
- Fire suppression exercises, restoration, and post fire events
- Act as an interface, as needed, between associates at the applicable location and centralized project / operations / MAC management
