Vocational Tutor

We are looking for a Vocational Tutor to support our learners in developing their knowledge and skills, and helping them to access appropriate training and employment opportunities.

Requirements

• Professional qualification relevant to area of instruction or relevant experience
• A relevant teaching qualification (equivalent to Degree, PGCE or Cert Ed)
• Experience of teaching in an alternative provision environment; experience of teaching children with EAL, SEN, speech and language difficulties, and other complex needs
• Experience of working with disengaged or hard to reach young people, aged between 14 and 19 years old
• Ability to motivate and encourage children appropriately, with high expectations of pupils’ behaviour, and clear strategies for working with challenging pupils
• Knowledge of the statutory requirements of equal opportunities, discrimination, health and safety, SEN, and safeguarding of children
