The Development and Events Coordinator is responsible for planning and executing fundraising and community engagement events, coordinating event and corporate volunteering opportunities, and actively managing and stewarding an assigned portfolio of individual and corporate donors.
Requirements
- Plan and execute fundraising and community events
- Manage event logistics, including timelines, budgets, vendors, volunteers, and equipment
- Solicit and secure event sponsorships, vendors, in-kind donations and raffle donations
- Track, reconcile and report all event revenues and expenses
- Generate reports and metrics to track evaluate fundraising event performance and outcomes
- Oversee post-event follow-up and stewardship
- Collaborate with the Communications team to develop promotional materials and messaging
- Assist with the development of the department's annual budget and monitor monthly financial activity reports
- Serve as Chair of various fundraising and events committees
- Utilize fundraising and community events as strategic donor cultivation and stewardship opportunities
- Recruit, train, and supervise seasonal support staff and event volunteers
- Partner with the Development and Communications Director to achieve the corporate fundraising goal through strategic corporate volunteer opportunities
- Manage an actively steward an assigned portfolio of individual and corporate donors
- Development and retain long-term relationships with donors, sponsors, and prospective supporters
- Monitor donor giving history and engagement trends to support retention, upgrades, and re-engagement strategies
- Collaborate with the Development & Communications Director to identify opportunities for increased donor involvement, sponsorship growth, and deeper organizational connection
- Support donor retention efforts by ensuring donors experience timely appreciation, transparency, and connection to the impact of their support
- Ensure timely and thoughtful stewardship activities
- Participate as a public speaker representing the agency and/or department as necessary
- Participate in grant development activities in coordination with the Development & Communications Director
- Support donor communications by contributing to stewardship messaging, donor updates, and impact communications in coordination with the Development & Communications team
- Represent the agency in a professional, ethical, and competent manner
- Advocate for the best interests of the agency and clients we serve
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with the general public, co-workers, clients, supervisors and members of diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds
- Maintain confidentiality and confidential information in accordance with legal standards and/or agency regulations
- Participate in assigned scheduled agency meetings, in-service trainings, conferences and other trainings as determined by the supervisor
- Observance of assigned working hours and program appointments by demonstrating promptness and thorough preparation
- Performance of assigned duties with a positive attitude and in the spirit of teamwork, collaboration and cooperation
- Communicate effectively both orally and in writing
- Perform job duties in a safe manner to ensure a safe working environment for oneself and others
- Participates in and/or supports Agency fund development activities and events
- Preparation of assigned reports, work records, statistical data, job performance evaluations, work plans, etc. in a timely manner
