R&D Technician

Chew is a mission-driven food and beverage innovation company looking for an R&D Technician with a strong knowledge of the food industry and the latest food trends. The role involves planning, executing, and documenting R&D experiments, providing scale-up production and formulation support, and participating in laboratory maintenance.

Requirements

• BS in food science, chemistry, chemical engineering, or other related science or engineering degree program, or a combination of education and relevant food experience
• Strong interest in research and development, coupled with prior experience conducting nutrition and/or food science research
• 0 or more years of experience in Product Development and R&D within CPG, ingredients, food service, and/or restaurant environments
• Proficiency in basic food analysis (including pH, moisture content, water activity, and color), texture analysis, rheology, and shelf-life studies
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team environment with minimal supervision while adhering to aggressive deadlines
• Ability to lift, kneel, bend over, squat, stoop, and carry 25 lbs
