The Role: Engineer II, New Product Introduction Engineering. We are seeking a skilled and experienced New Product Introduction (NPI) Engineer to join our team in Kulim. In this pivotal role, you will help shape product design and manufacturing processes to enable efficient, high-quality production.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant technical discipline such as Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience, preferably in a manufacturing or production environment
- Technical Expertise: Strong technical skills to identify and resolve process gaps, including areas such as welding, fabrication, physical testing, and electro-mechanical design
- Experience actively pulling products into manufacturing while ensuring process and quality capability
- Ability to create data-driven New Product Introduction (NPI) plans to support long-term portfolio success
- Project & Process Management: Skilled in managing tasks to meet stage gate milestones and other key commitments
- Experience with structured development processes such as stage gate methodologies (e.g., Accolade)
- Proven ability to orchestrate and prioritize multiple activities to achieve divisional goals
- Hands-on experience with Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement initiatives
- Teamwork & Collaboration: Strong independent performer with a collaborative mindset
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and contribute meaningfully
- Positive feedback from cross-functional teammates on collaboration and value-add
- Willingness to learn from experienced colleagues and share knowledge and ideas
- Communication Skills: Bi-lingual proficiency with strong English verbal and written communication
- Excellent documentation and technical writing skills
- Experience working in a global organization, supporting intercompany goals and cross-regional collaboration
- Outstanding Candidates Will Have: Experience using SAP ERP, specifically for managing Bills of Materials (BOMs), routings, and related documentation
- Self-motivated and proactive team player with strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to effectively communicate, influence, and collaborate with personnel across all levels of the organization
- Strong technical acumen to drive process improvements and resolve gaps in collaboration with subject matter experts
