Leicestershire County Council is looking to recruit two Waste Site Supervisors to assist with the management of waste operations and waste transfer at its Recycling and Household Waste Sites (RHWS) and Waste Transfer Stations (WTS). The successful candidates will have the following base locations: Post 1 Waste Site Supervisor (South) - Barwell, Lutterworth and Whetstone; or, Post 2 Waste Site Supervisor (Northwest) - Bardon, Coalville and Shepshed. The role is very much a hands-on supervisory role, supervising a team of operatives.
Requirements
- Valid relevant Certificate of Technical Competence
- Level 3 First Aid at Work, First Response or equivalent
- Good experience in the management of waste operations
- Supervision and management of teams of employees in the waste management industry or a similar workplace
- Good communication skills including the ability to negotiate, resolve issues and to achieve successful outcomes
- Effective engagement with customers, and in resolving customer issues
- Good knowledge of site operations and environmental maintenance/compliance, and a strong knowledge and understanding of Health and Safety on waste sites
- Experience in the use of Microsoft packages, standard IT equipment and industry standard software
- Organisational and interpersonal skills and ability to prioritise effectively
- Ability to travel to locations across the County as required (access to an appropriate vehicle with business use insurance)
