Leicestershire County Council is looking to recruit two Waste Site Supervisors to assist with the management of waste operations and waste transfer at its Recycling and Household Waste Sites (RHWS) and Waste Transfer Stations (WTS).
Requirements
- A valid relevant Certificate of Technical Competence or the desire, willingness and ability to work towards gaining this qualification within a reasonable time and Level 3 First Aid at Work, First Response or equivalent or the desire, willingness and ability to work towards gaining this qualification within a reasonable time.
- Good experience in the management of waste operations, with very good experience in the supervision and management of teams of employees in the waste management industry or a similar workplace.
- Good communication skills including the ability to negotiate, resolve issues and to achieve successful outcomes and to be able to effectively engage with customers, and in resolving customer issues.
- A good knowledge of site operations and environmental maintenance/compliance, and a strong knowledge and understanding of Health and Safety on waste sites.
- Experience in the use of Microsoft packages, standard IT equipment and industry standard software, with good organisational and interpersonal skills and can prioritise effectively.
- The ability to travel to locations across the County as required (access to an appropriate vehicle with business use insurance).
