The Fraunhofer Institute for Machine Tools and Manufacturing Technology IWU is seeking a Research Engineer in Lightweight and Composite Technology to join their team at the Fraunhofer Polymer Engineering Center Oberlausitz in Zittau, DE. The successful candidate will contribute to the development of new manufacturing technologies for lightweight components made of fiber-reinforced plastics (FRP).

Requirements

• Completed Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or a comparable field
• Practical experience in the production of FRP components for lightweight applications
• Several years of experience in the design of FRP and metal components
• Experience in designing test setups for structure tests
• Innovativeness, initiative, and openness to interdisciplinary tasks
• Communication and teamwork skills as well as interest in scientific exchange
• Very good German and English skills in word and writing
