Job Description
Howmet Fastening Systems (HFS) is seeking a Machining Tech V, Grinder to set up and operate multiple spindle automatic screw machines. The position involves independent machine setup, cutting tool adjustment, machine operation, and troubleshooting, along with parts handling and cleaning.
Requirements
- Independently makes complete set up of automatic screw machines.
- Selects, mounts, and adjusts cutting tools; regulates time cycles; sets machine speeds, feeds and stops.
- Selects and positions gears and cams as called out on screw machine layout.
- Performs turning, drilling, reaming, facing, tapping, threading, forming and other operations within the capacity of the machine.
- Performs S.P.C. charting from predetermined dimensions.
- Performs knitting task.
- Performs part lifting and/or transportation.
- Keeps work area clean, safe and in an orderly fashion on a daily basis.
