Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated individual with lived experience to provide culturally grounded peer support to individuals in residential treatment. The role draws upon personal lived experience with recovery and healing to offer guidance, encouragement, and connection within a culturally safe environment.
Requirements
- High School Diploma
- Personal lived experience with recovery, healing, and cultural wellness
- Knowledge of Indigenous cultures, traditions, and ceremonies
- Strong connection to community and cultural resources
- Experience in peer support or related role (asset)
- Understanding of trauma-informed and harm reduction approaches
- Experience working with Indigenous people, organizations, and communities
- Knowledge and experience of Anishinabek Health and Traditional healing practices
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
