Job Description
Motional is transforming how autonomous vehicles discover critical intelligence using its OmnTag ML-powered multimodal data mining framework. The Senior Backend Engineer on the Data Mining team will architect and own the production systems that enable data scientists and ML engineers to scale data processing, model optimization, and multi-modal data pipelines. This role requires a strong foundation in distributed systems and cloud computing.
Requirements
- BS in Computer Science or related field
- 6+ years of experience in large-scale distributed systems
- Deep expertise with Ray or Spark
- Expert-level Python proficiency
- Proven experience in scaling production data pipelines
- Strong SQL and data manipulation skills
- Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS preferred)
- Demonstrated track record of production-grade systems and mentoring
