Job Description
The Ontario Medical Association (OMA) is seeking a Senior Director of Government Relations & Advocacy to lead their government relations strategy at multiple levels of government in Ontario. This role involves advising and managing government relations, developing policy strategies, and representing the OMA's interests to policymakers. The position is crucial for advancing OMA’s position as a trusted voice in transforming Ontario’s healthcare system.
Requirements
- Undergraduate Degree in Public Policy, Political Science, Communications or equivalent
- Minimum 15 years relevant experience
- Professional accreditation from Canadian Public Relations Society (CPRS) or International Association of Business Communicators (IABC)
- Knowledge of government, public opinion research, public engagement practices, community, stakeholder and member relations.
- Expert knowledge of government mechanics
- Ability to reach out to all levels of government
- Knowledge of Ontario’s health-care system
