Senior Mechanical Engineer

Red 6 is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to contribute to the next generation of augmented reality (AR) hardware systems for military training and commercial applications. You will lead the mechanical design and development of precision components and assemblies for cutting-edge AR devices, including headsets and optical systems.

Requirements

• Mechanical Design: Lead the design and development of precision mechanical systems and components using SolidWorks, ensuring functionality, manufacturability, and reliability.
• Prototyping and Testing: Create prototypes, conduct rigorous testing, and iterate designs to achieve optimal performance and durability.
• System Integration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate mechanical designs with optical, electronic, and software systems.
• Analysis and Validation: Perform detailed structural, thermal, and tolerance analyses to ensure mechanical systems meet stringent performance and environmental requirements.
• Documentation: Generate comprehensive CAD models, detailed drawings, and engineering documentation for manufacturing, assembly, and quality assurance.
• Vendor Collaboration: Work closely with suppliers and manufacturing partners to ensure high-quality production of components and assemblies.
