CNC Machinist / Senior CNC Machinist - D Shift

Rocket Lab is a global leader in launch and space systems, building and launching rockets and satellites for scientific exploration, Earth observation, climate change missions, and national security. They are seeking a CNC Machinist / Senior CNC Machinist to maintain, set up, and operate CNC machines at their Long Beach, California headquarters. The role involves working with lathe and mill machines, interpreting drawings, providing feedback for improvement, and maintaining equipment. The position is on a D Shift (Friday-Sunday) schedule and requires the ability to work extended hours and weekends.

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience with CNC operation on lathe and mills (CNC Machinist)
• 5+ years of experience with CNC operation on lathe and mills (Senior CNC Machinist)
• Demonstrated ability using Lathes: Dual Spindle (Live Tooling)
• Demonstrated ability using Mills: Turning 5th Axis
• Demonstrated ability to interpret drawings, GD&T
• Willing to work D Shift (Friday - Sunday 2:30pm - 1:00am)
• Ability to travel and communicate outside of work hours
• Must be able to work extended hours and/or weekends as needed
• Repetitive assembly operations, grasping, standing, lifting, bending, pulling, pushing, stooping, stretching, and carrying
• Ability to walk or stand for extended periods – 8 hours min
• Must be able to lift up to 25lbs. unassisted.
