Director of Governance - UK Bank

Starling Bank is seeking a Director of Governance to lead a dedicated team focused on the effective operation of the board and executive risk committee. This senior role involves ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and promoting corporate governance standards, working closely with board members and senior leadership to shape the Bank’s strategic governance. The ideal candidate will be passionate about corporate governance and thrive in a dynamic environment.

Requirements

• Qualified Chartered Secretary (ACG, FCG, or equivalent)
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in regulated financial services. UK banking experience is preferred
• Deep knowledge of UK corporate governance standards, company law and UK regulatory frameworks (FCA, PRA, SMCR etc)
• Proven track record of engaging with board members and senior executives in a strategic governance role
• Strong leadership skills with experience in building and managing governance teams
• Excellent minute-taking skills with the ability to write clear and accurate minutes
