Job Description
This is a regular Full-Time Peer Specialist position for S:US, focused on bridging the gap between clients and treatment teams in Harlem/Bronx communities. The role involves outreach, medication-assisted treatment support, relationship building, advocacy, and team collaboration. It offers the opportunity for creative writing and building a youth-friendly environment.
Requirements
- Certified Recovery Peer Advocate (or Provisional) Certification
- Understanding of community resources
- Positive and productive progress toward own recovery
- Good interpersonal communications skills
- 2 years of active participation in substance use/mental health self-help activities
- Ability to disclose recovery story (when appropriate)
- Excellent judgment
- Adherence to on-call cell phone system
