Job Description
The Peer Support Specialist will provide comprehensive support, treatment, and related services to individuals with substance use disorders, working under the direction of the Lead Counselor. This role involves individual, group, and collateral counseling, case management, documentation, and community outreach. They will utilize motivational interviewing, trauma-informed models, and relapse prevention strategies.
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED
- 75-hour peer support training completion
- Knowledge of substance use disorders
- 6+ months experience with teaching/group discussion
- Knowledge of community substance use, mental health, and social services
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Internet Browsers, and TeleHealth
- Must be drug tested prior to hire and Drug Test Clear
- Must have TB Clearance and annual clearance
- Must have First Aid/CPR certification
