Cook Full-time

Participate in provision of quality meals and nutritional services to patients, staff and guests, and perform various kitchen duties, such as preparing meals, cleaning the work area, and reconciling deliveries.

Requirements

• Previous experience working in a food service industry, preferably in a hospital or institutional setting
• Ability to concentrate on work amidst distractions such as noise, conversations and foot traffic
• Consistency in meeting deadlines and finishing all food preparation at specified serving time
• Flexibility in work hours to meet patient and organization operating needs
• Ability to adjust recipes to achieve desired results
• Ability to read and comprehend recipes or instructions on prepackaged products
• Ability to use kitchen equipment such as knives, slicers, mixers and dishwashers
• Knowledge of the hygiene factors involved in food preparation
• Ability to perform several tasks concurrently
