Job Description
The Infection Control Coordinator is responsible for identifying, investigating, reporting, preventing, and controlling healthcare associated infections among patients and personnel. This includes developing and implementing infection control policies and procedures, reviewing cultures and sensitivities, and collaborating with the infection control committee chairperson.
Requirements
- Professional Requirements
- Licensed nurse or professional medical person with appropriate credentials in microbiology or related field
- Two years experience in clinical nursing preferred
- Working knowledge of microbiology, epidemiology, infectious diseases, aseptic techniques, and current practices
