Registered Practical Nurse

We are seeking a Registered Practical Nurse to provide clinical services to clients who face barriers to accessing care. The position is a mobile outreach position that will provide clinical care, illness prevention and health promotion in social housing units and other designated areas.

Requirements

• RPN with current College of Nurses of Ontario registration
• 2-3 years experience as a Registered Practical Nurse
• Three to five years’ work experience in a combination of remote rural, hospital and community settings and/or public health along with experience as a Registered Practical Nurse providing care to individuals who face multiple barriers to care
• Awareness and sensitivity to socio-economic and cultural needs
• Awareness of and sensitivity to health issues particularly within populations who face barriers to accessing care
• Demonstrated commitment to and knowledge of community-based health care
• Flexibility in work hours is required including evenings and weekends
• Awareness of northern community health care needs
• Valid driver’s license, access to a vehicle and ability to travel to other service locations
