Rice University is seeking a Director of Development – Parent and Family Philanthropy to identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward major gift prospects within a regional portfolio. The role will focus on parents of current students who have the capacity to make gifts above $100,000, and will also play a role in achieving fundraising goals by developing and executing comprehensive fundraising strategies, including volunteer management. This is a hybrid position, combining in-office and remote work.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree
- 5+ years of experience raising leadership gifts at the $50,000+ level with demonstrated success in cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding major gifts
- Ability to develop and initiate new strategies relevant to donor cultivation/solicitation
- Advanced problem-solving skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work well under pressure and manage projects simultaneously
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong data analysis skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Must possess and maintain valid driver's license
